1987:
Resigned from the parent party SUCI in September 1987 on grounds of
unresolved theoretical differences as mentioned in the booklet ‘Why did
I break with SUCI brand of pseudo-Marxism’.

Reconsidering the entire corpus of orthodox Marxism. During this brief
interlude he brought out several pamphlets on why orthodox Marxism won’t
do and the need for a critical rereading of the texts of Marx, Engels and
other thinkers of their school.
1988-89:
Editorship of ‘Eastern Weekly’ (An English Weekly published from
Rourkela and Cuttack)
From 1989
upto May 2001:
Served as the Founder- Director of ‘Project Swarajya’ an NGO based at
Cuttack, Orissa
From
2001onwards:
Voluntarily resigned from the post of Director ‘Project Swarajya’ in
May 2001 to make himself free for a larger engagement with civil society.
